We only ship “6 packs” of honey. We ship via the United States Post Office, using their medium size flat rate box. This box is a “flat rate” anywhere in the United States and the rate is not affected by the weight of the contents. Which is good b/c honey is heavy. This box will fit 6 of our one pint jars. As a result I can offer our honey shipped to your door for 10.00/jar including shipping and packaging. As long as you order six. Shipping fewer jars is possible but the price will increase per jar. So, $60 bucks gets you any six pint jars shipped to your door.

Review the products page and make your choices, Click the contact or “ask the beekeeper” link up yonder and tell me what you would like. We don’t do plastic cards……..yet, but we do have a paypal account and gladly accepts U.S. currecy, gold, Money Orders, and personal checks. After you email your order I will email a confirmation back with payment adress ect.

We started harvesting this years honey crop last week. The summer started out with a bang but has slowed to squeak. It looks like another thin honey production year. The bees are doing ok but the honey just isn’t there. We may be short on honey come spring.
On the bright side we did make some unique honey, including the New Mexico Wildflower from this spring. There are about 180 jars left. It’s selling really fast and those who are enjoying it have something really special. We also had bees in an area of Star Thistle. Most would consider this plant a weed but it makes some wonderful honey. The bees were working it along with the yellow sweet clover so we decided to call the honey Star Thistle/Clover. We also made a fair amount of our old stand by, clover. The clover honey this year is exeptionally light in color.
We also have a new crop of Tamerisk. This honey is super dark and rich this year. If it were a beer it would be a Guiness. This honey is very strong in flavor and does not granulate readily.

Baby Fran is doing well. We are basically out of our light honey. This is the first year we have not been able to supply all of our customers for the full year. However, the bees are doing GREAT and making honey like crazy. Especially the bees in Taos, Questa, and San Luis. We plan on extracting the honey starting Aug 1st. So bee patient, the new crop is comming.
Mean while I do encourage all to try the New Mexico Wildflower 09. This honey is limited to 400 jars and dropping daily. This is truely a unique honey with lots of cactus and ocotillo nectar. I know that during these tough economic time it’s hard to justify paying more for less but, like all of our speciality honey, once this is gone THERE IS NO MORE. Buy a jar and put it away to enjoy on deserts with special company.
I will post again once the new crop of Northern New Mexico and Colorado honey is ready.

BEES R HOME

Well, my time has been split between my beautiful daughter (whom, like most new borns, can’t tell the difference between night and day), my wife and the bees. The mesquite honey that I had thought they were making turned out to be mixed with wildflowers from the New Mexico desert. Rodeo dried up after the middle of May and we the bees didn’t do quite as well as we had hoped. However, we did extract som very nice unique desert honey. It will be packed under the label New Mexico Wildflower 09. I am going to be conservative with this honey and sell it those loyal customers who take the time to call or stop by the farmers market in Taos. I just really don’t have enough to sell to my retailers. Some thing special for those who know Simply Honey.
I have had a few people ask about the latest alfalfa/clover honey that I have packed. This honey is very thin. I apologize for this. This was extracted hastly at the end of last summer during a period of high moisture. I added nothing to this honey while packing it…..it is as the bees made it. There wasn’t much and I was hoping I wouldn’t have to pack it but we are REALLY low on local honey from last summer. The bees have started making honey now but it won’t be ready to extract untill late July. I will post here as soon as I have a new crop available for sale.

It’s a Girl!

Frances Edelen was born early Thursday morning weighing in at 8lbs 3 and 1/2 oz. I always say that there is no such thing as a cute new-born, but she sure was. (LOL) Mom and baby are doing fine and dad has alot of work to do.

We will be bringing the bees in to N. New Mexico and S. Colorado next week. They currently have some Mesquite honey made that will hopefully be extracted by July 1st. I will up date the products page when I get this done.
The Taos farmers market has started. We will be there starting tommarow May30 and, unlike last year, I should have someone selling honey every Saturday at the Market.
